Music is a wonderful expression of the soul and is an integral part of worship at First United.

Our music, a blend of traditional and contemporary, is supported by piano, pipe organ, choir, Gospel Band and other vocalists and instruments on certain occasions.

The choir brings music to worship services throughout the year. Rehearsals happen every Wednesday evening in the Burnham Room, next to the sanctuary, under the direction of James McLauchlan, our choir director. The choir rehearses and performs throughout the year, with a rest in the summer months.

No experience is needed to join and we are always happy to welcome new members.

Our Gospel band plays at Sunday services, giving the congregation a special treat with occasional performances throughout the year. All those curious in performing with the Gospel Band are encouraged to inquire.

There are many musically talented folks in our community and in our congregation. All are welcome to share their gift of music, as a guest soloist, a group, or otherwise; we’d love to have you.

If you are interested in getting involved musically, contact our choir director James McLauchlan here.

Throughout the year special concerts are hosted at First United, for both the church and the greater community.
Melodies of Christmas is a continuing tradition that has been part of our community for many years.
